Sapele Keepsake Box
My clients were expecting a baby, and wanted a box where they could store the various meaningful objects from the baby’s childhood. I made this from sapele, a mahogany-like wood which has a beautiful red shimmer when finished. The top is of spalted beech, which has some very busy, interesting patterns. It has hand-cut dovetails all round and solid brass hardware.
